SBA-15 Ordered Mesoporous Silica
SBA-15 is a mesoporous silica with well-ordered hexagonal arrangement of cylindrical pores known for its high specific surface area (500 to 1000 m2/g), large and uniform pore size, and tunable pore structure. It is popular because of its thicker pore walls and larger pores, making it more stable and better suited for hosting larger molecules or nanoparticles. It has also pore hierarchy, presence of both mesopores and micropores in the same material.
